Horwitz is proud to announce the promotion of Todd Matelski to Chief Operating Officer – Mechanical. Matelski steps into this role as the company continues to strengthen operational alignment and drive strategic growth across its mechanical division while continuing to maintain a strong and active presence in preconstruction efforts.
Matelski brings 24 years of industry experience, including 13 years with Horwitz, where he has advanced through key leadership roles such as Engineering Manager, Preconstruction Manager, and most recently as Vice President of Preconstruction & Strategy. Throughout his tenure, he has helped guide the strategic direction of the mechanical division, contributed to more than $300 million in mechanical division growth, and led numerous notable and complex projects including Downtown Wells Fargo Towers, Upsher Smith Project Keystone, Lakeview Hospital, and several confidential laboratory and mission-critical facilities across the metro area.
As COO – Mechanical, Matelski will unify preconstruction, estimating, design, fabrication, and construction under a cohesive operational vision. His focus will be on enhancing collaboration, efficiency, and quality while strengthening the alignment between preconstruction planning and construction execution to ensure seamless project delivery for clients and partners. “I’m confident that Todd will continue to elevate how our mechanical operations deliver end-to-end solutions,” said Matt Dekkers, CEO & President. “With his leadership of Horwitz’s operational framework that empowers our project managers and field leaders, Todd’s work will help us sustain our growth while continuing to deliver the consistency, quality, and ownership our clients expect.”
As Matelski steps into the COO role, he will remain deeply involved in preconstruction, continuing to provide significant leadership and support to clients and project teams during the early phases of work that have long been foundational to Horwitz’s success.
