Horwitz is proud to announce the promotion of Chris Szczeck, currently a project manager within the mechanical division, to general manager of construction. In his new role, Szczeck will oversee Horwitz’s mechanical construction operations, ensuring the firm’s high standards for safety and quality while driving continuous improvement initiatives to support both team success and client satisfaction.
Szczeck began his professional career in 2011 after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in mechanical engineering. After spending over eight years with another commercial mechanical contractor, he joined Horwitz as a project manager in 2019. Since then, he has contributed to the success of notable projects, including Upsher Smith Laboratories, Boston Scientific’s Project Black Bear, and the Tommie East Residence Hall at the University of St. Thomas, among others.
Over the past five years, Szczeck has consistently demonstrated an ability to collaborate with clients, project partners, and internal teams to address complex challenges and ensure client satisfaction. Known for his approachable demeanor and accountability, he has become a respected leader within the firm, mentoring the next generation of construction professionals. Szczeck’s dedication to Horwitz’s core values is evident in his daily work. “Chris understands that the client experience is paramount.
